Short Biography
My name is Emily Takkidou. I am a registered Counseling Psychologist in the Cyprus Registration Board of Psychologists (No. 859). I hold a three-year degree in psychology (University of Leicester, United Kingdom) and I have completed postgraduate studies in the field of Counseling Psychology (University of Nicosia, Cyprus).
As part of my clinical expertise, I have offered therapeutic services in Greek and in English, both to adolescents and adults treated with various psychological difficulties. I have worked with people experiencing difficulties with their emotional and interpersonal relationships, as well as in other areas, such as with the difficulty in setting boundaries or adjustment difficulties and bereavement. I have worked in diverse environments, both during my training, such as in specialised mental health centres, as well as after fully registering as a psychologist, in non-governmental organisations that specialise in mental health and social care for both victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse.
At the moment, I cooperate with Armonia Mental Health Institute in Nicosia. At the same time, I have also focused on cases of domestic violence, bullying, low self-esteem and self-confidence, self-injury and suicidal ideation, as well as various mental disorders, such as personality disorders or mood disorders, etc.
