Therapeutic Approach
The psychotherapeutic approach I follow is based on the Integrative Model of psychological therapy.
The psychotherapeutic approach I follow is based on the Integrative Model of psychological therapy, which combines mostly a more Psychodynamic way of thinking, as well as skills and tools derived from the Cognitive-Behavioral and Person-centered approaches.
The Psychodynamic model focuses on the unconscious processes and unresolved past conflicts as influences on current behaviour. Rooted in Freud’s theories, it explores the interplay of drives, desires, and defence mechanisms in shaping personality and behaviour.
As part of our therapeutic work, we will emphasise on exploring and understanding along with the client the psychological defence mechanisms they might have developed throughout the years as a way of dealing with potential emotional and personal difficulties.
Even so, based on each client's needs and wishes, tools and techniques from other models and approaches might be applied, as they might be presented as more beneficial for certain cases.
